Okaloosa Island, October 2008

Early last month we drove down to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and spent an extended weekend on Okaloosa Island.  I went for a walk on the beach each morning and got some pretty nice shots.  I even managed to get the kids out of bed early one morning to join me.  We also drove over to Panama City Beach one afternoon to visit Margaritaville.  Overall, a pretty nice weekend.

Back in July we spent a week with friends on beautiful Lower Eau Claire Lake in northern Wisconsin.  This was our first trip so far north, and we definitely picked the right time of year to visit.  In the southeastern U.S., we’re used to mid-90s and 90% humidity in July.  In Wisconsin, the humidity was low and the average temperature was somewhere in the upper 70s.  I could get used to that.

9 Today

Our son celebrates his 9th birthday today.  Wow, they grow up fast!

We took our Cub Scout pack to Cathedral Caverns State Park in northern Alabama last weekend.  I think this is quite possibly one of the most beautiful caverns in the U.S.  The lighting definitely presented a challenge, but I think I managed to get a few passable pics.
